Window is a performance ensemble based out of Hudson, NY. Founded in 2013 by quartet members Antonin Fajt, Matt Norman, Carolyn Hietter, and Julian Lampert, the band began as an experiment in musical friendship and free improvisation. Over the past three years, however, their sound has transformed into a complex friction that balances the group's sophisticated improvisational capacity with its members' distinct compositional and musical styles. In addition to their quartet work, the band also experiments with other performance configurations. They've performed alongside solo acts, and expanded upon their own arrangements through the incorporation of guitars, percussion, multiple horns, and vocals. Since it's inception, Window has been performing across the lush Hudson Valley--the birthplace and background for the group's unique pastoral soundtrack.
